Well, hate to say this, but…

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Shots in the Dark is officially on hiatus. It’s obvious to our faithful fans (Guvnor and… well, just you, Paul) that we haven’t had new content in awhile. There’ve been some major life changes, and unfortunately this is something that’s fallen by the wayside.

Janelle, you may have heard, is the new Assistant Editor on the Batman line at DC Comics. She’s bringing her passion for comics to one of the biggest characters out there, and having a blast living in Batman’s world. Make sure to check out the latest issues of Batman, Detective Comics, Robin, and many many more.

Vince has had two major changes. First, he recently started a new job at the forefront of the games industry. Vince has his hands directly in a long-running franchise, and is having a blast helping the next version come to fruition. More on that as it comes, but suffice to say it’s a long awaited game, and you should be able to play it next year.

John, our amazing graphic designer and video editor (he also did all the cool video effects, just by trial and error- SOMEBODY PAY THIS GUY!), has opted to go the official route, and continue on with school for the same. Believe it or not, he’s getting BETTER at all this. You can still find him playing Halo 3 on a regular basis, though, and can expect to see his talent elsewhere soon.

Eric, aka The Viceroy, continues his long time employment with a major game company. He’s working on a new IP that he can’t quite talk about yet, but knowing he’s on it means there’ll be at least one awesome part to the game.

Our man Steve the Imoticon is on the brink of the big time. He’s been catching acting gigs left and right, and can be seen wielding the magic of the gods and blasting punks with heat vision as the mocap actor for a couple characters in a major upcoming fighting game. You’ll see more Steve soon, and not just on the internet.

Our late (old) addition, Josh aka Victoris, has been honing his geekocity and prepping his next major career move. His shock-jock approach to the geek world will NOT be silenced, and you can expect more from him in the near future.

Then there’s me, Lucas. Well, if you’re not reading Newsarama.com/games on a regular basis, you’re a giant FAIL! I’m producing about 98.2% of the content for that new dedicated games section, which keeps me remarkably busy. In addition, you can still check my comics coverage there, including the Damn Dirty Skrulls Secret Invasion Report (which will be morphing into something else upon the story’s completion, have no fear!) and the Flashback Friday every…erm…Friday. There’s more to come from me there, as well, and hopefully I’ll have more to talk about soon. You can catch me on PSN or XBL as TheGeek616.

So there you have it. It’s been intensely fun, and an amazing learning experience for all of us. We, and the show, won’t be going away completely. We do have a couple things in the pipeline for the show in one way or another, so don’t be surprised to see Shots in the Dark pop up again soon, though it may be a slightly different animal. Until then, keep on geekin’ on…
