Queen of the Rack(s)

I get fed up with repaint assorments. They turned into overkill at Toy Biz near the end of the X-Men heyday. They totally took over the various Batman lines from Hasbro. And sadly, the same fate looks about to befall the WWF line from Jakks Pacific.

In their Series 7, only ONE figure hasn't been made before. There is a slight bit of retooling on Kane, but Jericho, Triple-H, Kurt Angle and Undertaker are pretty much the same. However, the lone new figure is significant because she is, after all, the boss's daughter.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley: Since the repeated abduction attempts by the then-Satanic (and cool) Undertaker, Stephanie McMahon has played a rather large TV role in the WWF. Moving from that storyline to her engagement to Test to her surprise marriage to HHH to her place in the HHH/Angle feud, Steph is a part of every major plot in the company. It's about damn time she was immortalized in plastic.

Steph's face has been rendered by the Real-Scan technology, and they rightly chose to catch her in one of those smug, bitchy expressions. It's pretty good. The choice of outfit for the figure is a natural too: tight black pants and tight red top. Hilariously, Steph looks like she's trying to smuggle two nuclear warheads out of the former Soviet Union under her sweater. Yes kids, this figure's got her rack on.

As for posing, the Jakks team made her left arm brilliantly. Able to either be placed in a slapping pose (Steph's lone offensive move) or her hip while she's whining on the mic, her hand is a really nice touch.

While Stephanie has been rendered very well, don't waste your time on the rest of the batch. Save THOSE pennies for Lita . . .

The rest of the series 7 lineup: 2 bananas.
